Youth With A Mission

Orphans Know More (OKM) is a ministry of YWAM Harpenden which partners with African families to address the needs of children orphaned by AIDS and war. OKM works to give orphaned and vulnerable children, a face, a family and a future. OKM assists 18 Ugandan families caring for 135 children. OKM raised £36,000 last year (2008) enabling these children to attend school, improving food production, providing micro-enterprise loans and funding a local social worker. Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity and YWAM Uganda resulted in 80 new homes being built for needy families and the repair and extension of 20 existing homes. Our desire is to see the ministry multiply in other locations so that orphans in other countries can be cared for in families.
