Stories from Big Give Sunday 2010

In 2011, you helped The MET show God’s love to thousands of people around the world, with outreach efforts including:

Food | Nearly 384,000 meals were served to 912 children in Kenya, Uganda, and Liberia. More than $6,000 of food was distributed to families in northwest Houston.

Camp | At MET-supported camps in Mexico, the Philippines, Botswana, Cambodia, Pakistan, China, Thailand and Brazil, more than 300,000 teens heard the Gospel, and over 110,000 placed their faith in Him.

Bibles | 3,986 Bibles or New Testaments were distributed in India, Haiti, Kenya, and the United States.

Medical | More than 2,400 patients were seen by medical clinics across Africa, including more than 1,500 on our property in Wakisi. Four hundred people were treated by dentists, 6,000 pairs of glasses were given, and $20,000 worth of medicine was distributed. In North Korea, The MET’s medical manufacturing facility produces IVs and medicines for families every day.

Church Plant | Churches were planted in Brazil and Indonesia, while in Africa 750 pastors were trained at a pastors conference. In ministry efforts we support across Africa, The Philippines, Cambodia, Mexico, and Brazil, nearly 400,000 people have heard the gospel—and more than 100,000 have given their lives to Christ.

Water | Two 10,000-gallon fresh water machines were dedicated in Nairobi, Kenya, which will provide water for thousands of people living in abject poverty.

Orphans | The MET is constructing 5 children’s cottages at the orphanage on our property in Jinja, Uganda, with 5 more ready to be built. A Pastors Training Center and dormitory is nearly completed, and will be ready for use in 2012. We also continue to support our outreach to orphans in Romania.

Christmas Gifts | More than 1,000 toys were distributed and 89 parents made professions of faith last Christmas through our annual Toy Drive for Mission Centers of Houston and Mission Greenspoint.

Shoes | Students at The MET provided 400 pairs of shoes for ministries in the Houston area as well as Costa Rica.

Education | Each day in the Kibera Slum, 567 kids are fed and educated. The MET also provided 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to needy families in Cy-Fair ISD, including 200 to Hopper Middle School.

Media | Through a television ministry supported by The MET, more than 50 million homes throughout Africa are exposed to the gospel each week, with 14 million viewers tuning in every Sunday.

Serving | Nearly 700 people from The MET served people in need through Mission Saturday projects, Church Under the Bridge, and at mission partners in Montana, Mexico, Canada, and Costa Rica
