Houston: Habitat for Humanity

The MET works with Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County to help provide housing for those in need. Habitat is a Christian-based organization that partners with families to build affordable houses in which they can grow in responsibility for their lives and the lives of others as they help to strengthen neighborhoods. The work The MET is doing with Habitat is directly influencing the local community by allowing families to have a place they can call home.

“There is nothing like seeing the kids in those families when they get a new home – when they realize they have a room of their own. I believe in my duty to give back and God has given me the talent and skills to do something.”
~Bob Young, MET member and Habitat for Humanity volunteer

Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County is a non profit ecumenical Christian organization.  Our mission is founded on the conviction that every family should have the opportunity to own a basic, decent home in which to live in dignity and safety.  We partner with the community and families to create affordable housing and help develop responsible homeowners and successful neighborhoods.
