Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) is a nonprofit, community-based, multi-program social service agency that strives to meet basic human needs through Neighbors Helping Neighbors. In 2008, NAM touched the lives of more than 120,000 community members in need. The organization was formed by ten Covenant Congregations who agreed to set aside their theological differences and pool their resources in a manner to better serve community needs. Today, NAM is supported by 47 congregations, 18 Service Partner organizations and more than 140 business Community Partners. NAM has served north and northwest Harris County since 1983 and currently has approximately 85 employees and 2,000 volunteers.                      

NAM offers ten social service programs: Assistance Program, Children’s Clinic, Counseling Center, Family Violence Center, Fifty Plus, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Meals on Wheels, Resale Shops, Rotary Learning/Workforce Development Center, Shelter & Energy Assistance
